Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 3 reagents for one craft of Superior Steelskin Potion cost 96 gold22 silver. Most of that is Zin'anthid - 12 at 6 gold35 silver each, 76 gold20 silver, 79.2% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 101 gold28 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 100 gold96 silver, which does not clear it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 4 gold74 silver; the Auction House would keep 5 gold4 silver of a sale, leaving −30 silver80 copper. That is an estimated -0.3% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 106.5% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 39 units across 4 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
