Crafting estimate at current listings
At current lowest listed prices one craft shows an estimated profit of 4 gold83 silver, but the crafted item’s listing is far from its 30-day median (see below).
- Reagent cost (lowest listed)
- 7 gold71 silver
- Crafted item, lowest listed price (each)
- 3 gold30 silver
- Items per craft
- 4
- Listed value of one craft
- 13 gold20 silver
- Auction House cut (5%)
- 66 silver
- Estimated profit at that listed price
- 4 gold83 silver (+63%)
- Evidence: 25 current listings holding 6,026 units of the crafted item in the US region. We see listings, not sales, so how many sell and at what price is unknown.
- Outlier: the crafted item’s lowest listing is 3.2 times its 30-day median of 1 gold2 silver, so this estimate rests on a listing far above its usual level.
- Items per craft: the game’s spell data creates 4 per craft, so the listed value of one craft is that many times the lowest listed price.
- Not included: the recipe also accepts 1 finishing reagent slot, which are not required and are left out of the cost.

Reading these numbers
At current lowest listed prices the 3 reagents for one craft of Wise Tails cost 7 gold71 silver. Most of that is Warping Wise - 3 at 2 gold22 silver each, 6 gold66 silver, 86.4% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.
Break-even is 8 gold11 silver per craft, 2 gold2 silver per item at 4 items a craft - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 3 gold30 silver, which clears it.
At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 5 gold49 silver; the Auction House would keep 66 silver of a sale, leaving 4 gold83 silver. That is an estimated 62.6% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 12.0% of the gross.
Listing depth right now: 6,026 units across 25 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.
Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
