I like seeing the icon on my button bar, as well as a counter for my Anhks. As a passive ability, you can't drag it to your bar. However a simple macro can overcome this. It'll show a counter for your reagent, as well as the cooldown.

#showtooltip Reincarnation

Almost any passive ability, or inventory item can be similarly represented.

If you're a shaman above lvl 30, PLEASE have ankh's on you.

As a priest, I always carry 3 stacks of sacred candles on me for group fort/spirit buffs. Those cost me 9s each. so, i spend 18s each hour for group buffs, not counting rebuffing after wipes, and the occasional prayer of shadow protection.

Paladins pay for their symbols of kings. Gift of the Wild. Arcane Brilliance.

We don't mind paying for our reagents because it helps out the groups (and we have to cast buffs less often.) You can't help out if you don't have an ankh, though. . If you find yourself running out of ankhs a lot, then buy more than one stack when you shop at the reagent vendor (or die less, hehe). Your group will Love you, though, if they don't have to run alllll the way back to their corpses.

Thanks shammy friends :)

Tip: This is the shaman reincarnation ability, use it wisely as the propper use can be the difference between your group giving up on an instance.

This has an hour long cooldown and rezzes you with minimal Hp and mana, do not use this trivially.

The mats for this cost 15silver, lower levels are advised to use this sparingly

Use this macro to show cooldown, reagents left, and click to announce to raid or party how long you have left before you can use the spell again. ;) #showtooltip Reincarnation /run local r,t,m,n="Reincarnation","player","",SendChatMessage;local s,d=GetSpellCooldown(r);m=" > "..r.." on "..ceil((d-(GetTime()-s))/60).."min CD!";if s>0 and d>0 then if UnitInRaid(t)then n(m,"RAID")else n(m,"PARTY")end end Updated it and it works with 3.1 just fine, there was a slight syntax typo in the 2.3 version one.

There is a totem available in Dire maul after someone in the party has gotten their full tier 0.5 set. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22345 it some times drops off the summoned boss. Since the totem reduces the cooldown by 10 minutes, and totems can be switch mid combat, if your reincarnation is up, and you're going to wipe in a party, quickly equip this totem. this totem plus the talent will make the cooldown 30 minutes. Edit: and with patch 3.3, the CD on reincarnation was reduced to 30 minutes, the talent reduced to minus 15 minutes, and the item I link reduced to 5 minutes, so now you ca

One thing that hasn't been mentioned already:

The cooldown is intially 60 minutes, which means that you'd best better be careful when using it. Especially since you only come back with 20% of your HP/mana.

However, the cooldown can be reduced by a grand total of 20 minutes (to 40 minutes). Its a tier 2 talent in the Shammy Restoration tree. Requires 2/2 talents in Improved Reincarnation. Can be very useful for instances/raids.

yup this is mostly used in instances for parties that dont have a lock to get back up from a wipe. just make sure you are away from the mob when you know your group is about to die to make sure you can use this without getting aggro and dieing before you can rez. and the mats might be a little too much for lower levels so if cant afford that much try not too use this as much. 20s each and 18s each if you get a discount for it.

I agree, it can be annoying having stacks of reagents in your bags but there is no excuse for turning up for an instance run with not enough reagents. TIP: With the 2.3 patch engineers can now construct vendor bots (a pattern that drops of the little demon mobs in Ogrila who guard the apexis 'pianos') which sell all manner of reagents, well worth investing in for those poorly equipped people who run out or point blank don't have the neccessary reagents.

falrinth+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Not exactly, but it would have been sweet. The 3.3PTR patch notes indicate that Improved Reincarnation will reduce the cooldown of Reincarnation by 7/15 minutes and the PTR version of Totem of Rebirth shows that it now reduces the cooldown of Reincarnation by 5 minutes (from 10 minutes previously). Hence a fully talented and totemed Reincarnation will be at a 10 minute cooldown. However I can't see the totem being of much value compared to what

Ankhs stack up to ten (and have done so for quite some time), which is five hours of non-stop reincarnating. If you've ever forgotten to bring ankhs to an instance, make a habit of carrying two stacks. No group will ever accept "I forgot to buy ankhs" as an excuse. If you really really can't remember, buy a glyph.

defektunge+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It should be mandatory for anyone who has ever forgotten to buy ankhs. For veteran shamans, the Water Breathing and Water Walking glyphs are a bit more useful as those reagents are harder to come across and don't have any cooldown (so you can burn through reagents faster, assuming you actually use the two.)

255077+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

i too prefer water walking and/or breathing in instances like serpentine cavern where you can buff the entire raid or for getting away from hard situations in pvp just water walk+ghost wolf (but a DK can allways follow and a druid just get in bird form). another use i found for the water walking is fishing, getting yourself facing the coast instead of being exposed

Reincarnation is fixed as of patch 4.0.6:

  • Reincarnation can now correctly be used after Soulstone Resurrection or Rebirth has already been used on the shaman during a boss encounter.

someone should test this to see if your reincarnate has less than 10min and you equip this if it will finish the cooldown, or just leave it at the old time. still useful for if it is up and you use it, you instantly cut off 10min having the totem equipped when you wipe

Winternyght+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I had a stack of ankhs that disappeared from my inventory at some point. I am certain I did not sell or move them from my bag, and I only used Reincarnation a few times. I should have had lots of ankhs left but when I died once, I couldn't reincarnate. I checked my bag, and there was an empty slot where the ankhs should have been.

Stalyn+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

If you're like me and you want the Ankh icon for the Reincarnation timer on your action bar, you can find it by starting near the middle and working your way down. It's quite close to the middle so you can go slightly above to make sure you don't miss it.

Kryptos+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I fail to see how 1 shaman can prevent an entire raid wipe when a raid boss has 10-15% HP left. Also, we get reincarnation bumped down to 30 minutes and Warlocks get theirs bumped to 15 minutes? What the raspberries!

Arlond345+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Well Shamans have the the Improved Reincarnation talent to reduce the cool down to 15min, which i find amazing, i'm talenting that for my Enhance Shaman, Reincarnation in a BG, throw down wolves and an elemental while you heal, imo after 3.3 Shamans will be the best pvp class 2nd only to paladins, and even they'll have a run for their money

Burakkura+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Warlocks don't get a talent that reduces it by 15 minutes. Granted seems like it could be core for shamans and no need to spend the points...of course then they'd have to up the amount of health and mana the soulstoned target comes back to which is also part of the shamans talent that a lock doesn't have access to. Although I can't imagine justifying spending the points on this in an already bloated resto tree with already attractive talents in the neighboring enhancement for spare points.

I've actually done a reincarnate clutch in 2 separate instances, but both were on mere dungeon bosses, nothing like Rag for sure =) Also not quite as epic is the healer turned dps clutch of a well-timed Nature's Swiftness Chain Lightning, which once saved our Panther attempt in ZG back in the day ; ) Finally, I just love using this in PvP. Nothing beats getting knocked down, then sneaking up behind the would be victor and launching them bodily off a cliff with Thunderstorm. Even better if you can get a Flame Shock on them on the way down. Then they get to writhe in misery while the tickin
