TheWoWDBName of the enchanting ability is misleading, it is "supposedly" to create Eternal Crystals, otherwise it should be named as "Eternal (Crystal) Shatter". Also, there is a recipe sold by Wild Hunt Quartermaster named [item=183096] which does the same thing as Eternal Crystal according to in-game explanatory text: "Use: Teaches you how to convert an Eternal Crystal into Sacred Shards."

I just got one of these and they were selling for 15000 in the auction house so I thought I would look and see what it's used for before I sold it. So far no information.
