Furthermore, for a long time this was the only item with stats that wasn't soulbound. It's like the prototype for Heirlooms! ...If all your alts are Warlocks.
As the green woolen item requiring the least wool, it's useful for doing the tailoring/enchanting combo, which is a good moneymaker. Too bad it requires green dye, which isn't usually available from trade goods vendors; you have to go to tailoring goods vendors or leatherworking goods vendors.
