it used to make the bear happy, now it makes the hunter happy because they have a cute sleeping bear =)
Also, it seems to heal the bear, replacing food.
My friend had a poor old bear that he rarely ever used and found out about the rest button. Well guess what? It rested for not 20 seconds. Not 1 minute. Not even 20 minutes. HELL. Not even 2 days. 14 days the bear was knocked out. Either he took a sleeping pill, got knocked into coma, or it's winter, but that ain't rest. That's hibernation.
