If a player stands between the pylon and the Fallen Avatar the beam is redirected to them. Standing within the beam inflicts 39.1829 Shadow damage every 1.5 sec sec.

In addition, the target is afflicted with Tainted Essence. This effect intensifies every 2 sec sec while standing within the beam.
