Source is the collection journal’s own source for each appearance, read from the current retail build; bosses, quests, recipes, prices and requirements come from the game’s item, journal and quest records.

This is a complete head-to-toe outfit - it fills 8 armor slots, so it can be worn as a full look with nothing borrowed from another set. Every piece is Bind on Pickup, so the appearances have to be earned rather than bought.

Ensemble: Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Armor is a single item whose use effect learns all of Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Armor at once. It is Bind on Pickup. Using it requires level 27.

5 pieces of this appearance set also belong to the item set Gladiator's Dreadplate, which carries these bonuses in the game files:

• 4 pieces: +35 Strength.

5 pieces share their appearance with items outside this set, each with its own collection source:

• Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Chestpiece uses the same appearance as Brutal Gladiator's Plate Chestpiece (vendor).
• Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Gauntlets uses the same appearance as Brutal Gladiator's Plate Gauntlets (vendor).
• Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Helm uses the same appearance as Brutal Gladiator's Plate Helm (vendor).
• Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Legguards uses the same appearance as Brutal Gladiator's Plate Legguards (vendor).
• Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Shoulders uses the same appearance as Brutal Gladiator's Plate Shoulders (vendor).

2 other sets reuse the 3D models of Brutal Gladiator's Dreadplate Armor’s head and shoulder, most shared models first:

• Onslaught Battlegear (The Burning Crusade, 18 pieces): the same head and shoulder models, recoloured.
• Lightbringer Battlegear (The Burning Crusade, 20 pieces): the same head and shoulder models, recoloured.

Matched in the game files: each piece’s ItemDisplayInfo names its 3D model and texture. The same model with another texture is a recolour. Only pieces with a 3D model of their own (helms, shoulders, cloaks, weapons, shields, off-hands and some belts and robes) can be compared this way; pieces drawn from textures alone are left out.
