About Upper Blackrock Spire
The history of this imposing fortress is long and complex. Carved into the fiery core of Blackrock Mountain by the Dark Iron clan centuries ago, and eventually taken by the black dragon Nefarian and his brood, the upper reaches of Blackrock Spire are now home to the Ironmarch vanguard. As preparations to use the Spire as the staging ground for a full-scale invasion of Azeroth continue, the Iron Horde has set up a terrifying contingency plan: a doomsday weapon within the heart of Blackrock Mountain.

Piece of cake to solo at 110. Just dps boss down until the adds phase starts. They just keep coming so just kill 5 adds, then kill the boss. Careful not to fall off the platform!
This achievement is a DPS check, no doubt about that. However - It is NOT as much of a DPS check as people think.
We managed to do this today as one of the last Glory achievements we needed. Our group composition was; Retribution Paladin, Protection Warrior, Discipline Priest, Beast Mastery Hunter and Frost Mage. We did not need the use of Pots, however we had the 200 Stat Crystal/Flask on, aswell as 8/9 buffs & food buff. Our gear was around 625.
We found out after several frustrating outbursts, that it is NOT necessary to kill the Drake while it does its fire breath. In the end we managed to count that there is an "8-drake cycle" throughout the encounter. Let's say that you manage to get the 1st drake down to 20% before it flew away again. This means that it would take approximately 7 drakes before that 20% drake flies in for another breath. It will HEAL while it is up there, but not too full, we managed to pinpoint it to around 40% (insecure number).
How we did it...
- First of all, Team communication is crucial. I honestly think this is near impossible without communcation, but there is room to prove me wrong :)
- Bring anything you can that can help you with concentrated burst DPS, being able to kill 1 or 2 drakes during a bloodlust + pots is very helpful, but not necessary. It simply saves you time.
We abused the fact that the fight had no enrage timer. We get the boss to 60% to spawn the 3 adds and then nuke them down. It alligns with the boss coming back down. After that only tank dps boss for mitigation and everyone else focus only on every SECOND drake. The drakes comes down so fast that doing dmg to every drake is a waste of time. Rather save up holy power etc and be ready for concentrated DPS on every second drake, to get it below those 40% so that when it comes back down after the cycle, it is easily killable. The tank can help dps on drake, but it is not recommended as it's hard to know when the boss knocks you back.
TL:DR
Wait out the cycles and keep firing concentrated DPS at every second drake, getting them around 30-40%. When they come back down after the "8-drake-cycle" their health should be in kill-able range. Kill 5. Kill boss. Achieve glory.
