This was the level when all characters, any class, received their class quest which I think led to Temple of Atal'Hakkar. The reward was a superior (rare, blue, etc.) item, often with unique attributes. Most notable for me was Warlock, because it had a choice of endless Soul Shard for summoning a voidwalker, or a scythe. Scythes rule.

Level 50, nothing exciting here. It's less than epic since no one remembers when they hit level 50, especially Death Knights.
I like how there were -no- comments for level 50. I just would like to add that level 50 is an exciting and fun time! You're only 10 (TEN) levels away from being 60 (yay!) and only 8 (EIGHT!) levels away from going to Outland! Exciting!
Also only 20 levels away from the level cap LAST EXPANSION! OMIGOSH!
Level 50 - exciting funtimes.
