Old Ironjaw

Note for all fishing fans like me who are totally going for Salty Title:

Old Ironjaw and Old Crafty are NOT necessary for the Accomplished Angler !

So you can get Salty without spending days on these fish :-)! Happy fishing!

I'm posting this in hopes that other's can avoid the mistake I just made.

I turned on auto-loot and was trying to cast and recast as quickly as possible to reduce the pain of this endeavor as much as possible. Believe it or not, I caught Old Ironjaw before I even got my "Catch 100 Fish" achievement. Problem is, I was going so fast, that before I even realized I had caught Old Ironjaw, I had already recast my next lure. Old Ironjaw is Bind on Pickup, so you have to click OK on the "Are you sure you want to loot this?" dialog -- which I didn't. Old Ironjaw went back into the water, and I haven't seen him since.

Lesson of my sad tale is to not go so fast that you drop him when you actually manage to catch him. Who knows when I'll catch him again. Good luck to all of you.

The achievement for Old Crafty is actually easier for Alliance to do than this one is for Horde.

Alliance have plenty of places in Orgrimmar that they can fish relatively undisturbed.

Horde have one spot, the Forlorn Cavern, and it has NO hiding spots.
