FYI - If you are really nice and ticket a GM and get good <GM> RNG they can actually check your toons history and verify you had the mount at one point and restore it for you - Granting the FoS.
Hope this helps - I got mine back this way.
The original mounts were removed with patch 1.4 and are no longer obtainable in the game.
