Unlocking Tier 6 is a huge effort but well worth it for the [item=187134] which allows you to add sockets to 6 items of gear (I think exact number may vary with class, but definitely 6 items for mage/cloth). So with the +16 gems, this added +96 (6 x +16 gems) to my best secondary stat.
I was farming c.700-800 rep per day from c.12 rares and c.10 treasures/chests/nests/etc per day which by the end left me with ample [currency=1931 domain=www] for the sockets (I had 60k CR by the end and needed 6 x 5k for the sockets)

TIER 6 turned out to be worth the 100 hour + solo farm to me. And, since it's the last time I will be "raiding," etc. - I have nothing to bad to say here on that one.
