For EU players, there were earlier issues with large, incorrect Collector's Edition shipping costs. Midnight and The Last Titan

Xal'atath's schemes continue, and she is dangerously close to reaching her goal. Details on The Last Titan are sparse, which Wowhead notes is a good thing ahead of Patch 12.2, avoiding spoilers. Wowhead's Midnight and The Last Titan coverage collects the day's announcements.

Upcoming Warcraft Q&A

Blizzard will host a live Q&A in the week following BlizzCon 2026 with members of the World of Warcraft development team. Players can submit questions ahead of time on the forums about upcoming Retail patches and Classic+.

The Q&A takes place on 17 September at 18:00 BST on the official Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels. A VOD will be available after the stream.

StarCraft has a new announcement

Blizzard announced a new game in the StarCraft IP. The game is not launching until 2030, so details are limited, but the IP is finally getting a new entry.

Diablo 5 revealed

Revealed during the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony, Diablo V is in development with a Spring 2029 release date. The central premise is that the heroes of the past have failed, Sanctuary has fallen, and Diablo has won. Diablo is present from the moment the game begins, ruling from the throne of Westmarch and shaping the story and world.

Players take the role of the Heir to Westmarch, on the run through a kingdom transformed into an outpost of Hell. Some humans have been corrupted into Dread Commanders. With towns no longer safe, players build a caravan of allies who travel with them, acting as vendors and companions, including a former Sister of the Sightless Eye and a stranded Treasure Goblin.

Sanctuary is reshaped by Diablo's terror through a procedural landscape where terrain, points of interest, monsters and rewards can change between visits. The first three classes were revealed: Demon Hunter, Monk and the all-new Plague Knight, with more classes to come.

Itemization draws from Diablo II, with stat requirements on gear, larger items taking more inventory space, gear-based sets, and a crafting system with Diablo II-style Runes and Runewords. Starting in 2027, Blizzard plans regular updates, and players can sign up at Diablo5.Blizzard.com.

  • Demon Hunter: twin crossbows, striking from the shadows
  • Monk: martial combat and holy power
  • Plague Knight: spreads disease and consumes it for power

Moophisto and the 30th anniversary

A limited-time Diablo 4 event runs until September 14, with the global World Boss taken over by Moophisto, a hulking brute of cattle carnage. Defeating him 300,000 times completes The Divine Bovine Community Challenge, unlocking the Moomento Mori Mount Trophy for all players in Season of Hell's Legacy. Each kill contributes one point.

Season of Hell's Legacy is the centerpiece of Diablo's 30th Anniversary celebration. All three Prime Evils appear in Diablo 4 at once, and players become the Dark Wanderer. A seasonal questline revisits a living history of past Diablo games, with encounters with legendary heroes and notorious foes, the Rebirth function, and new iconic uniques based on Diablo staples.
