BlizzCon 2026 · Day 1 · What's Next: World of Warcraft: Forever

Forever's class, item and racial updates: unique classes, impactful talents, hundreds of new items and updated racials

World of Warcraft

Forever's class updates keep each class unique in the Classic style, with Paladins gaining a tanking seal, group healing and a Retribution suite; talents drop small percentage nodes for impactful choices; hundreds of new items arrive with on-use effects, existing items get stronger, and racials are made more distinct.

The What's Next panel closed its Forever segment with class, item and racial changes. Class updates follow the Classic philosophy of making each class feel unique. Paladins were the worked example: a new tanking seal, more group healing, and a whole suite of Retribution tools. Talent trees move away from plus one or two percent nodes toward impactful choices.

Itemization gets hundreds of new items, many with special on-use effects, and existing items are updated to be a little stronger, a little more unique and a little more useful rather than replaced.

Racials are also updated to feel more unique and distinct. Blizzard's official page describes the wider change as revamps to all classes and specializations; per class detail is expected from Sunday's Deep Dive panel.
