BlizzCon 2026 · Day 1 · World of Warcraft: Forever

Forever's new zones: Zephras Isle, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal, plus an expanded Azeroth

World of Warcraft

Blizzard's page introduces three new zones for World of Warcraft: Forever. Zephras Isle is a floating island and the Skyborne home, the Riverglades is a sprawling Eastern Kingdoms landscape of hillsides and ruined keeps, and Mount Hyjal is stalked by threats old and new.

World of Warcraft: Forever adds new zones and expands existing ones. Blizzard's official page names three. Zephras Isle, once a secluded island oasis in the sky, is home to the Skyborne and their starting experience. The Riverglades is a sprawling landscape in the Eastern Kingdoms that shifts from lush hillsides to the ruined keeps of old. Mount Hyjal, closed off in original WoW, has threats both old and new stalking its slopes, eager to claim its power; the reveal cinematic showed Archimonde's bones on the mountain.

Beyond the new zones, Blizzard describes an updated and expanded Azeroth dense with new stories and secrets across familiar vistas and never before seen locales, with more than 1,000 new quests and new dungeons. The cinematic also showed Dalaran without the dome that hid it in vanilla.

The page previews each zone with in-engine video; the lighting and environment upgrades shown there are covered in the graphics article.
