Talebound PvE action RPG mode coming with Midnight's Echoes of the Worldcore update

World of Warcraft

Blizzard announces Talebound, a PvE action RPG game mode for Midnight, launching with four stories, three playable classes, and the hub village of Quillgrave.

Blizzard has announced Talebound, a new PvE action RPG game mode coming to World of Warcraft: Midnight with the Echoes of the Worldcore content update. Players can play solo or with friends through macabre stories told by a mysterious Storyteller, exploring themed levels filled with enemies, bosses, puzzles, treasure, relics, and rewards.

The mode launches with four stories, each with its own settings, enemies, and boss encounters. Darkhaven features The Lord Marshal and The Blood Bishop, Greenthistle Wood houses two witches and a giant, Greywake's Expedition tells of a deep-sea tyrant and a herald from beyond, and the Grove of the Night Court chronicles The Fairy Queen and The Nightmare King. Between runs, players return to the village of Quillgrave to rest and prepare.

Talebound includes three classes: Slayer, Inquisitor, and Witch. Every class can double jump, dodge, and guard, making positioning central to combat. Each class has its own ability set, such as the Slayer's shotgun and mines, the Inquisitor's holy damage and fire spells, and the Witch's lightning, poison, spiders, and ravens.

After each run, players can work with the Arcanist, Scribe, Outfitter, and Antiquarian in Quillgrave to improve their odds on the next attempt, gaining potions, talents, stat improvements, and passives. Rewards include the Ensemble: Witch Hunter's Shadow Attire transmog set, Quillgrave-themed decor, and the Shadowbound Storybook mount, usable in Midnight and beyond.
