BlizzCon 2026 · Day 1
World of Warcraft: Forever details new regions, dungeons, and the Skyborne race
World of Warcraft
Blizzard's What's Next panel at BlCon 2026 covers World of Warcraft: Forever, including new Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor regions, nine dungeons, two raids, a new battleground, and the playable Skyborne race.
Blizzard shared details on World of Warcraft: Forever during the What's Next panel at BlizzCon 2026, with Senior Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, Lead Classic Designer Tim Jones, Lead Software Engineer Nora Mills, and Associate Production Director Clay Stone presenting. The game is set in original Azeroth and builds on lessons from WoW Classic and Season of Discovery.
The experience is guided by four pillars: approachable and familiar design, the world as the main character, the journey before the destination, and protecting social experiences. There are no flying mounts and no level scaling. The level 1-60 journey includes new and reimagined regions across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, plus more than a thousand new quests.
New regions include Mount Hyjal, where players explore the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat; Shen'dralas, a hidden area between Mulgore and Desolace tied to the Shen'dralar and Dire Maul; the Riverglades frontier with more than 150 quests in the mid-30s to mid-40s range; and Zephras Isle, a level 1-12 elemental starting experience. Zephras is home to the Skyborne, a new playable race. Horde-aligned Skyborne can be Shamans, Alliance-aligned Skyborne can be Mages, and both factions can play Warriors, Hunters, Rogues, and Druids with new druid forms, racials, and customization options.
Nine new dungeons are planned, including the Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge, the Ruins of Lordaeron, the City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, the Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, and the Shaper's Terrace. Raids include Hyjal Summit with 20-player encounters and the Barrow Deeps, a maximum-level 10-player challenge, both with new tier sets. PvP adds the Darkspear Islands, a 15 vs 15 Battleground off Kalimdor's coast combining control points with Arathi Basin-style flag captures. Class updates include new abilities and new race and class combinations, and a Legacy progression system supports the level 1-60 journey.
