Xal'atath is coming to Heroes of the Storm: PTR September 14, live September 28

Blizzard's first BlizzCon 2026 reveal is a new Heroes of the Storm hero. Xal'atath hits the PTR on September 14 and releases on September 28, the first new hero since the game entered maintenance mode in 2022.
Blizzard opened BlizzCon 2026 with a Heroes of the Storm announcement: Xal'atath, the Harbinger from World of Warcraft's Midnight storyline, is the game's next hero. She arrives on the public test realm on September 14 and goes live on September 28.
Heroes of the Storm has been in maintenance mode since 2022, so a new hero is the first content addition in years. BlizzCon attendees can play Xal'atath on the show floor all weekend.
Blizzard thanked the Heroes community for carrying the torch and said to stay tuned, because another new hero may be coming soon.
