He was one of the minds the lich king at the time touched calling him into the Frozen north. Upon Reaching the frozen steps of the lich king, Kel'Thuzad traded his soul for incredible power become the Lich Kings Lieutenant. He was responsible for spreading the Plauge of undeath across Lordaeron.
During the 3rd war, he was slain by Arthas and reborn as a lich.Kel'Thuzad now resides as the Seat of Naxxramas (http://www.wowhead.com/?zone=3456).
