Kortas Darkhammer

I struggled a bit with this, with a set up of Guardian Cub, Celestial Dragon (both 15) and Lashtail Hatchling (12). My Lashtail Hatchling was simply too low level, the Guardian Cub is weak against dragonkin, and the Celestial Dragon simply didn't do enough damage.

The Red Dragon is the easiest to beat. It does deal quite a bit of damage though.

The Green Dragon, has powerful heals, and will sometimes heal up to almost full health. He also hits quite hard when he chose to. You need a hard hitting pet agains this one to get it down quickly, or a pet with good heals to get him down while healing yourself up occasionally.

At one point I had gotten the Green and Red dragon down, only to find that the Black Dragon hits like a fricking truck, and completely demolished my Celestial Dragon, which was the only pet I had left.

Since I had few pets around the lvl 15 mark, I had to search a bit for a combo that could beat this. After looking through my pet list I found one which had an attack that was good against dragons; [petability=158 domain=www]. Most snakes have this ability, but the one I had was an Uncommon quality Adder, level 15.

Turned out, not only did it have Counterstrike, it also had Burrow, and in addition did very good damage.
It tore the Red and Green Dragon apart, but died against the Black Dragon - however I still had two pets left, and while the Black Dragon is pretty tough, it couldn't outlast that.

If you struggle with this, I can definetly recommend an Adder - though I'm sure there are other good combos as well. A defensive team with ok damage could probably take them.
In any event, I'm going to be searching for a rare quality Adder - I actually want a slow one, because of the way counterstrike works, if the Adder hits first in a round, you won't get the extra benefit of that attack.

The [npc=68663] is an absolute monster against Kortas' dragon pets.

With all his pets being Dragons, [petability=741] is great as it'll deal bonus damage to all 3 pets, use it on cooldown as long as he isn't down to his last pet.

[petability=713] is also very powerful, and since the Whelpguard has a higher attack speed than all 3 of Kortas' pets, you'll always benefit from the extra attack.

This was by far the easiest and quickest trainer battle I have done up to this point, and the only one I've managed to beat while using only 1 pet (who didn't even drop below 60% health).

My Whelpguard was Level 17 for reference sake, but considering how easy it was you should have no problem if your Whelpguard is Level 15-16 either (potentially even lower depending on your other pets).

Fun fact: He's wearing the dark grey version of Dark Vessel Mail, and it's complete. Players can't get it complete. *shiftyeyes*

Apparently purple-quality pokemon aren't the only things NPCs have access to that we don't. (And yes, NPC trainers' pokemon are in fact elites. Add up their stats and HP and compare them to rares of the same species and tell me they're not.)

Solution: Kill, kill, kill the Dwarf. (Catchy, no?)
