Rukhmar, Mother of the Kaliri, is one of the gods of Arak and a Warlords of Draenor world boss found in the Spires of Arak in Draenor. Ruhkmar first spawned on 03 February 2015.
Rukhmar is known to spawn south of the Apexis Excavation and north of Axefall just above the entrance to Skyreach. It appears that there is a 15 min timer between boss respawns. The favorite place to engage the boss is just north of Axefall vicinity 36.4, 39.0. For the Horde, the easiest way to reach this boss is to fly to Axefall or Apexis Excavation from either your Garrison or Warspear. For the Alliance, your best routes are to fly to the Apexis Excavation from either your garrison or Stormshield.
Although [spell=167710], [spell=167630] and [spell=167679] used to cause quite a few raid wipes during the Warlords of Draenor expansion, this boss is easy to solo now with a character of sufficient level and gear.
Bashiok, formerly the Blizzard Community Manager, stated in a Blue post on 03 February 2015 that "The mount from Rukhmar cannot be obtained through a bonus roll, only through a direct loot of the corpse." (Note: You no longer loot boss corpses...you either get awarded loot that goes directly into your bags, or you don't get anything.)
I continue to see trial characters attempting to obtain the mounts from rares and world bosses. Although this was possible early on, it is no longer possible. "https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/64574"
Sernius formerly from Proudmoore made the following observations on the WoW forums:
These are the mounts that can’t be looted on a trial account:
- Alani
- Argus Rares
- Draenor Rares
- Tanaan Rares
- Huolon
- World Bosses
- Phosphorescent Stone Drake
- Poseidus
- Time-Lost Proto Drake
- Warbringers
These are the mounts that can (be looted):
- Frightened Kodo
- Long Forgotten Hippogryph
- Voidtalon
- Garrison Bosses
- Grey Riding Camel
Additional stuff:
Several of Rukhmar's quills and talons were used to create the weapon "The Talon of Rukhmar" which is currently used by [npc=80614], an Adherent of Rukhmar. More information may be found at https://wow.gamepedia.com/Talon_of_Rukhmar
Ruhkmar is also celebrated in the [item=122283] toy which is sold by [npc=95424] at Vol'mar for the Horde and Lion's Watch for the Alliance, both located in the Tanaan Jungle.

Update: Updated for Dragonflight pre-patch world boss buff. Obsolete information removed.

Rukhmar is an avian sun goddess from Draenor who helped Anzu to slay Sethe. After the Raven Lord faded into darkness, she created the arakkoa to represent her grace and his cunning. Rukhmar fears and hates the Arakkoa Outcasts, for they have been cursed by Sethe. Her loyal high arakkoa followers, the Adherents of Rukhmar, wage war on the cursed arakkoa in her name.
As the mother of the Arakkoa, Rukhmar was their main and traditional deity; her veneration was eventually abandoned in favor of numerous other deities, such as Anzu, Ka'alu and Sethe, and later an unnamed Old God.
Her children associated Rukhmar with their Talon King Terokk, the goddess' chosen: it was thought they were both one and the same. When the arakkoan hero vanished, the believed reason was that the Arakkoa Outcasts had turned from Rukhmar; however, the truth is he went into a world of shadows in order to rejuvenate his weakened body.
Rukhmar's lullaby was sung by her to the first arakkoa:
"Shadows gather when the raven swallows the day.
Burning sky is extinguished as black wings fold gently about the heavens.
Rest, my children, rest. For even the sun must sleep."
Soloable at lvl 110 890 but probably not on a toon you boosted, unless they have a pet that can tank.
Soloable without pet at 920+. Results may vary but within 40 ilvls the damage you can take increases dramatically.
Bonus loot roll IS available. See below.
Where to camp, find or fight Rukhmar for the [item=116771] mount.
Fly to Apexis Excavation in Western Spires of Arak.
The spawn point is mid-air at around 37.00,38.55, which you can't really stand on.
If it's late in the week, or no one is around, stand in middle of bridge at 34.41,31.41 Spires of Arak. This is not her spawn point but very close to it.
She flies right over it (and you if you're facing the wrong direction). 110s don't seem to auto-aggro her so you will have to range tag her (to get her love).
Face SOUTH while on the bridge to see her coming from a distance.
If you get to the site just in time to see Rukhmar fly by, and miss her, you only have to wait a 3 minutes before she appears again.
AS of June 2018, and it's a busy night, you can forget about the bridge.
(what the whu? Did I just read all that for the dude to tell me forget the bridge?)
Yes. People have read this post for over a year now and are now camping closer to the spawn site than the bridge. Nowadays, most evenings, she will be camped right above rock spire at the following coordinates (34.83,38.25). This is common for people with WoD flying to do. Read on if you do not have flying. There is hope.
If you don't have WoD flying, you can actually use the path to get high enough up the rock spire at (34.83,38.25) to taunt her or range her and even bring her down to the ground. This is about as close as you can get to her spawn point, literally yards, without flying or range attacks. It's actually fun if you're a melee class. Her follow-you mechanism isn't all that awesome, but it does eventually work.
Etiquette Opinion: If someone at the spire aggros her away from you while you're on the bridge, you may as well try and goblin glide off the bridge and run up in time to try to at least tag her once during the fight [if you don't have flying] with anything you have from taunts to range shots. I'm not sure if this is frowned upon by mount hunters, [I don't think it's anything like [npc=51236], for which there are rules of conduct] but I've joined in with plenty of the opposing faction without too much argument. I mean, it's a fixed, known spawn point and a 15 minute at most respawn timer. So it's not a situation where you camp for months and someone steals her. At worst, you'll spend 20 to 30 minutes a week on this hunt. So, my current opinion, in this particular case, is feel free to join in any fight you can get to. Any damage is good damage unless you're splashing the other toon with your AoE. Ganking the other toon during the fight IS, in my opinion, unforgiveable and pointless in terms of getting a chance at the mount. It doesn't help in any way after they've tagged the beast. After she's dead, and people pick up their loot, there will usually be an awkward few minutes where you either
A. Stare at each other
B. Start a 'Mount-off' competition or
C. they just size you up and end up killing you. But it's not an 'anger' kill. It's just a "Well, we're here. May as well try to kill each other" thing. After she has been killed, it takes exactly 15 minutes for her to respawn mid-air at around 37.00,38.55, which is actually a sight to behold. Check it out at least once.
Loot: Generally expect to loot around 36 gold or a piece of WoD gear.
Note that there will be no loot second kill within server resets (she's not the generous type) to confirm she's still a weekly drop mob.
However...Now that you've read this far: Despite what others say, here's a tip:
REMEMBER YOU HAVE TWO SHOTS AT THIS PER WEEK: DONT FORGET YOUR BONUS ROLL: Purchase [currency=994] for 300g each from your faction vendor in your WoD capital city ([npc=87391],[npc=88570]) to get your bonus roll to double your chance at the mount per week.. You can carry up to 20 seals now. There is some debate whether or not the bonus roll works, based on a rumored blue post from 2015 that I can't find anywhere that says you can't. However, the Seals are so cheap and easy to get now you may as well roll. Things change all the time. You cannot bonus roll the mount. Source.
No need to buy the default [currency=1129] . [currency=1129] does not work with Rukhmar so be careful to correctly choose [currency=994] from the vendor.
Best of Luck

Abilities & Strategy
Overview
Rukhmar harnesses the power of the sun to create fiery phoenix allies to attack players. When defeated, these allies crumble into Piles of Ash that can nevertheless be reignited by exposure to other phoenixes or to Rukhmar's power itself.
Damage Dealers
- Stay away from Piles of Ash, or the Blaze of Glory explosion caused if you are targeted by Blood Feathers will reignite them.
- When Rukhmar takes to the air, Loose Quills fall on players at random.
- Flee from Energized Phoenixes that are chasing you, and defeat other Phoenixes away from Piles of Ash to avoid reigniting the Piles with Blaze of Glory.
Healers
- Rukhmar's body is full of Solar Radiation.
- Pierced Armor increases the damage that a tank takes from Sharp Beak.
- Rukhmar's Solar Breath hits all players in front of her for significant damage.
Tanks
- Alternate tanking Rukhmar to allow the Pierce Armor effect of her Sharp Beak to fade.
- Energized Phoenixes fixate on random players, but Depleted Phoenixes can be tanked normally.
- Rukhmar's Solar Breath will damage all players in front of her.
