Surging Mana Crystal

[npc=64899] easily beats all 3: Decoy > Thunderbolt > Breath

The Surging Mana Crystal is found in the northwest corner of Suramar, and starts a pet battle encounter vs the Font of Mana, Seed of Mana and Essence of Mana. They're only available to fight when their world quest, Mana Tap, is available. The Manafiends are Rare quality pets and can be used to give experience to a leveling pet. They like to randomize their moves, move order and even appearance order to keep you on your toes.

To level a pet on this fight, I used the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (Breath/Decoy) and a Wild Golden Hatchling for backup (Breath/Roar/Lift-off). The leveling pet goes in the top slot and should have 500-600 health. The Wild Golden Hatchling can be swapped for any strong pet with Dragonkin damage- Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon would do very well with Breath/Emerald Presence/Lift-off.

Leveling Strategy
Round 1- Start with your leveling pet, and use any move. Switch to your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. If you can get a Decoy in time to soak a Surge of Power (the manafiends like to cast this as soon as it's available to them, but move order is somewhat random) then do so. Spam Breath and use your best judgement as to when to use Decoy to try and soak Surge of Power whenever needed. You take reduced Magic damage due to your Mechanical type, so don't sweat it if you misjudge the timing. Continue spamming Breath until your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling dies, and then tidy up the fight with your third dragon. If your third dragon has lift-off, try and time it to avoid a Surge of Power. If it's off cooldown and Arcane Storm isn't, there's a very good chance they'll cast Surge.

Mana Tap is randomly available in Suramar (19.95, 35.26), only visible if you've unlocked World Quests, AND have a certain amount of progress within the zone*. Rewards will vary.

Other Options - pick 3:

• [npc=115139] (2,2,1) - maintain [pet-ability=315], using [pet-ability=611] on CD, [pet-ability=122] to fill

Pretty much: search for [pet-ability=122] and [pet-ability=115] - try to pick ones that also have heals and/or avoidance mechanics. The team you're fighting is all Magics, and they cannot be dealt more than 35% of their HP in a single attack.

*I didn't see this quest until I was revered with [faction=1859] AND completed the "Statecraft" storyline for Good Suramaritan. Though, for other battles (like The Master of Pets) - I only needed honored and "Blood and Wine".
