The Wounded Azurewing Whelpling is a pet encounter which has you defeat the Hungry Owl (Quills/Cyclone/Arcane Storm) and Hungry Rat, (Scratch/Drain Power/Arcane Dash) found east of Azurewing Repose in Azsuna. It's only available to engage when the associated World Quest, 'Help a Whelp', comes up. You can easily carry a pet here, but because you fight only two pets you get roughly 2/3rds XP for it. The carry pet needs to live through Cyclone damage in the backline, so should have 800-1000 health to be safe. If electing to not carry a pet, anything with Beast damage in the third slot couldn't hurt.

I used a Nexus Whelpling (Mana Surge/Arcane Storm) and a De-weaponized Mechanical Companion (Thrash/Extra Plating) to quickly two-pet this fight. The Stormborne Whelpling is a good substitute for the Nexus, and the mecha-bunny could potentially be swapped for a Cogblade Raptor or Zandalari Anklerender/Kneebiter.

Leveling Strategy
Round 1 - Start with Nexus Whelpling, use Arcane Storm, then Mana Surge. The Hungry Owl should die. Hungry Rat comes out and kills your whelp with Arcane Dash. If leveling a pet, bring him out and then switch right away to the De-weaponized Mechanical Companion. If not leveling a pet, bring out the mecha-bunny right away. Use Extra Plating, then spam Thrash until you win!

A full video guide of the two-pet leveling strategy I've laid out here can be found here. I hope this helps somebody!

I used a [npc=54027] (2 1 1) and a [npc=70451] (2 2 2)

Arcane storm -> Arcane Blast until dead (or two times then Surge of Power)

Hungry Owl dies and most likely your Tarecgosa.

Bring in your ZA

Black Claw -> Primal Cry -> Hunting Party

Pew pew, dead!
