Despite some considering this weapon "old and tired" it's still a classic along with it's distinctive graphic. When you walk by with your AR people KNOW you have one. It's a status symbol. Arcanite Reaper!!! HHHOOOO!!!

"Your father's Arcanite Reaper. This is the weapon of a MS Warrior. Not as clumsy or random as a gladiator's weapon; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the MS Warriors were the guardians of big crits in the Old World of Warcraft. Before the dark times... before the Arenas."

There was a time when 53.8 reigned supreme. This is a relic from those days. Considering the costs, one can make much better upgrades that it, these days. Stronghold Gauntlets http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=16741 and Lionhear Helm http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=16729 Have similar Arcanite costs, other mats are really inconsequential. Here is the link for all uses of Arcanite Bars (in crafting). http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12360#z0z

Oh oh! I got a better plan! How about a Blacksmith can UPGRADE this to a lvl 68 axe, very much like the master ________smiths stuff. I see something like ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- */gold* Plans: Eternium reaper */endgold* (or something along the lines) Requires Master Axesmith Materials: Arcanite reaper, eternium bar x30, ---------------primal fire x5, primal might x1 Binds when equipped Two-Hand--------------------------------------------------Axe 255-455 Damage----------------------------------------3.80 (93.4

"And when I charged to them, we went into... aggressive negotiations." "Aggressive negotiations? What's that?" "Well, uh... negotiations with an Arcanite Reaper." "This is my Arcanite Reaper. There are many like it, but this one is mine."

If you remember MS'ing your way through Hillsbrad those few years ago, you might want to check out the spiritual successor to the Arcanite Reaper, the Felsteel Reaper -> http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23543#comments Also on that note, there's a similar successor to the Truesilver Champion, the Khorium Champion -> http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23541

In addition, particularly for Arms warriors, weapons such as Barbarous Blade (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18520) or Darkstone Claymore (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=20669) will give you similar straight-up DPS plus the added benefit of Sword Specialization. Some warriors have also found that Blackhand Doomsaw (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12583) with it's instant physical damage proc can also be comparable (although the value of Polearm Spec is arguable). Considering the cost of materials, the other upgrades available, and the negligible (if any) upgrade the Arc Reaper has over 5 or 10-man d

What're you talking about? Saurfang's son lives! He's just asleep. Soon enough, he'll jump out of nowhere with his buddy Mr. Smite, yell, "HE TOLD YOU HE'D IMPROVISE!", and one-shot Arthas. Afterwards, he'll kick Smite off the top of ICC. YOU'LL LIVE ON IN EVERY WARRIOR'S HEART, DEAR OLD ARCANITE REAPER!

Prior to patch 2.0, Polearms and Axes had separate specializations that both gave the same effect (1-5% crit). These were merged into Poleaxe Specialization as part of the Burning Crusade talent tree overhauls.

There is a remake of this axe now, called Arcanite Ripper, drops of Prince Tenris Murkblood, some new 'boss' in kara. Same model with some flashy green glow. It also has this thing that you can do, 30 sec cooldown, wich transforms you into the guitarist from LVL70ETC. Here's a view at it: http://img515.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ar2sp3.jpg

The impact of this weapon was immense for Warriors who had previously suffered greatly as the pariah class in PVP being repeatedly pwned in the face by players of other classes eating a burger at the same time. For a time, this weapon and it's detrimental effects on the target's healthbars came as a rude shock - like the 120 lb wimp who went away and joined the marines and came back a 250 lb monster who ripped out livers and ate them raw. If there was ever a single item that changed the world for warriors (albeit for a time) this was undoubtedly it. My treasured reaper lies in the bank peacefully these days, only taken out for the occasional bloodletting to re-live those halcyon days of yore.

I remember when I made my first warrior and was trying to decide which weapon skills to focus on, the entirety of trade chat agreed to go with 2hded axes and I was like why? And then a second later about 30 posts all saying "Because the Arcanite Reaper is an axe".

You never, EVER reply to a quote from Obi-Wan Kenobi with a quote from Hayden Christensen. Or for that matter mention the "second-three" movies in the presence of the original three... or even a quote from the original three. Never.

Actually you're partially mistaken, Manevru. Technically yes, it wasn't the best weapon in "vanilla" wow, since most people consider everything before TBC to be "vanilla" wow. The Arcanite Reaper wasn't epic because for the first 6 months to a year after release, before blizzard started rushing out raid after raid, it really was the best weapon in the game for mortal strike warriors, retribution paladins, and even enhancement shamans. Molten Core didn't even exist, and Onyxia was closed due to the many many bugs she had. Epics were more like the legendary items of today, where they weren't

Maybe not best, but most legendary... specifically because it was accessible to anyone. Making it an epic .1% drop from Nefarion would have made it just another OP 2Her for raiders. Every warrior with a moderate amount of dedication could get this symbol of power. It was just hard enough to get to feel like a major accomplishment, but not so much that you couldn't have a job at the same time. For this reason, few weapons are as cherished as the Arcanite Reaper. A red shell in Mario Kart? Link's sword in the NES Zelda games, the BFG of Doom fame, Half-life's crowbar, Master Chief's

The Unstoppable Force is also rather easy to get. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19323 Gained from being exalted with Alterac Valley. Though getting weapons shouldnt be that much of a problem when the next patch hits, as the rank 14 weapons should be rather easy to get. // Christensen
