Just got it from a Battered Junkbox. Here's what I did:

1: Got on my 90 rogue (i'm sure any rogue 55+ will work)
2: Bought a Glyph of Pickpocket, and Glyph of Lockpicking (this one is a necessity, makes lock picking instant)
2B: Changed first talent to Nightstalker for faster movement.
3: Went to Stockades, and pick pocketed every humanoid in the instance.
4: Sprinted out, reset, and repeated step 3.

Once you have a full inventory, open all the junk boxes and vendor/destroy trash.

I got my Blackvenom blade after about 30 runs. Really good luck for me (I did over a 1000 Gnomer runs and never saw a Hotshot Pilot's Gloves drop)

I did not make this discovery, but I thought I'd share this info with you guys. The glyph stuff is the most important step that I've yet to see anyone on the twinking websites mention. These glyphs just make the grind so much easier.

Good luck, happy hunting!

You do not have to be behind target to pickpocket.
Remember to get lockpicking glyph and the pickpocket (really useful for getting all mobs in group from single spot).
First here two macro that you might find useful for this grind:

Mouseover Pickpocket

#showtooltip Pick Pocket
/stopattack
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm,nodead] Pick Pocket
/cleartarget

Reset instance:

/script ResetInstances();

Macro to open lockboxes, no need for mouse to suffer:

/use Battered Junkbox

You can stay in the instance for 4-6 minutes after clearing and mobs pickpocket will reset, to use when you're close to 10 run lockout.
I ended up using Trashcan addon from curse which auto deletes greys and specified items; lucky charms etc.
Farmit addon from curse is also useful to keep track how many lockboxes you have in your bags.

Anyway I'm back with a will of iron this time, starting intense grind, will keep updating.

Day 1 : 2010 lockboxes looted, a couple of green rings, neck, loads of jades only thing of note I found was Recipe: Potion of Curing.

Day 2 : 1671 lockboxes looted, no daggers, only these ; [item=11969], Recipe: Potion of Curing , Pattern: Hands of Darkness, Pattern: Heavy Earthen Gloves.

Day 3 : 2057 lockboxes looted, first blue dagger unfortunately it was Evocator's Blade. The grind is starting to chip at my resolve. Hopefully get it before 10k lockboxes.

Day 4 : 1118 lockboxes looted, nothing nada zilch today.

I just hit 20k boxes and still no Blackvenom Blade. I have got lots of greens and I just finally got a blue.

Not what i wanted Evocator's Blade But at some new player questing will get it for free once I find someone with no BoA gear.

On a good note have made a few 1000 gold from the Lesser Moonstone I have pick pocketed from this massive grind I am in.

One day I hope to get this dagger but I am losing my will to keep going but I am way past the point of being able to stop this silly grind.

Edit 25k Boxes nothing still
Edit 29k Boxes this blade eludes me.
Edit 33k Boxes still no blade...I might have to call off this farm I am not sure how much longer I can keep sane. Will update.

Can confirm that as of patch 6.2.3, this item still does drop: http://i.imgur.com/PWhp8q5.jpg Took me about 30m of farming this to get it (2 runs, maybe 3) so I got extremely lucky.
Still very rare, but it is worth farming it out yourself, especially if your server is great for twinking.

This guy is stealthed and he walks around so you're probably not gonna find him if you're in the 20's range. Best thing to do is get a high lvl to kill him. He usually spawns in 5 places: in the cave, the camp directly south of the cave, the camp right next to Lt. Fangore, near the entrance to the tower, or by the back camp next to the drop going down to the lake. He drops this dagger and a cape that has +5 agility on it both of them are BoE also, so he gets farmed quite a bit. He also spawns roughly every 24 hours, so good luck.

Around 3,5K boxes opened, still nothing, will edit it if I got it later.
EDIT1: 5,8K Boxes, got Doomspike, no BvB for the moment.
EDIT2: 8,1K Boxes, still no BvB
EDIT3: More than 14K Boxes opened, No BvB, doing a lil break!

Planning on farming this? so far these are my best battered box per hour results:

Macros and config:
Menu > Interface > Controls > uncheck "open loot window at mouse"
this way the loot wont be showing above the mobs you are trying to pickpocket, that is really annoying

#showtooltip Pick Pocket
/script SetCVar("autoLootDefault","1")
/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead] Pick Pocket
/in 1 /script SetCVar("AutoLootDefault", 0)

#showtooltip Pick Pocket
/script SetCVar("AutoLootDefault", 1)
/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead] Sap
/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead] Pick Pocket
/in 1 /script SetCVar("AutoLootDefault", 0)

use sap macro when needed

spam pickpocket on mobs, you dont even have to wait the loot to shows up on screen, as long as the macro target the mob and you were stand still, the loot will be taken

farming on alliance rogues
on a 44 rogue
i do 10 lockouts of stockades, 12-18 boxes per run (120-180 in 25 minutes)
then i fly to north STV, pickpocket all trolls on ruins of zul'kundra, then i pickpocket trolls outside ruins, all murlocs on the way to grom'gol camp then head back to zul'kundra, about 40-60 boxes until the dungeon lockout expires

160-240 boxes hour

alternative: do stockades 9 times, on the 10 run wait INSIDE the dungeon for the pockets to reset, 30 - 50 boxes until lockout expires

150 - 230 boxes hour

stockades with 2 WoW licenses
need 1 40+ rogue on each account
farming 10 stockades lockout on each rogue
300 + boxes hour
profit

gnomeregan
really good alternative spot for hordes because of the access to stockades being hard, and npcs will annoy you
40+ rogue (better at 60 with burst of speed)

-pickpocket every troggs/gnomes
-you can pickpocket the slimes and oozies @ second boss, but not the "green water elemental" lol
-you cant pickpocket the gnome riding robot chicken, he (and all other machine mobs) will aggro if you try
-dont jump on any parachute spot, you must walk all the way down
-stop at the dark iron dwarfs, they give worn junkbox instead, pickpocket every gnome around Crowd Pummeler 9-60 then fallow the way to the portal on his site
-reset and do the backwards route to the main entrence

about 180 boxes hour

so far i got 2 rare daggers (1 assassin's blade) 2 uncommon rings and some patterns, must have oppened about 2k boxes already, im not counting btw

avoid farming outside a dungeon if you are not in lockout
avoid duskwood, low drop rates, people questing

camping Rohh can be useful, since he drops ilevel 26 green, that is possible for him to drop on BVB, all you have to do is leave a random character there, log in when waiting for lockouts, you wont be losing anything by doing this, he drops alot of good greens, his resp time is 1 hour, and i believe no BVB drop confirmed yet

948+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I've farmed Rohh for around a week before trying to get the dagger for my friend and myself. On average I would say that he spawns roughly every 11-13 hours in one of his spawn points. Good luck, it only once dropped.

484031+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Does the shadow damage work in feral forms(like procs now do)? Or does it count the same as the regular damage, and is just a different damage type?

edit: I see it no longer has secondary Shadow damage, so I guess the point is a bit moot.

xxxillidanxxx+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I used to camp the rare spawn for this dagger back in BC days to make profits, it used to have %40 drop rate. But after the shattering Rohh the silent's level went down to 18 while the dagger remains at level 21. And a lvl18 mob cant drop a weapon or armor that is higher level than him. So that is why it dosent drop anymore. and the guy that sold it for 5k, I bet he got it before the shattering.

Boxcuitz+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

There's an obvious lack of consensus as to whether Rohh still drops this dagger or not. Here's what I do know:
- People here on Wowhead have ticketed GMs concerning the matter. Some of these GMs have said it still drops but is extremely rare, and others did not divulge information. (I have not read about a GM who denied it still drops, though)
- I decided to ticket a GM for myself (this was done sometime early October, 2013). The GM confirmed it still dropped, but the drop rate is insanely low. However, the GM's source was actually Wowhead itself, so I'm not really sure GM's have a reliable source of their own with which to answer this question.

Now, I do want to make note of an update on Wowhead's loot history for Blackvenom Blade:
- Wowhead no longer lists any recorded drops for the Blackvenom Blade from Rohh the Silent, or from any source (as of this post's date, 10/26/13). This must have updated recently however, as I have been checking the Blackvenom Blade page a few times a week for updates and I only noticed today this change.
- IMPORTANT: Before this update, there were 4 recorded drops in some 2350 kills, which listed it at a 0.17% drop rate.

So where does this leave us?

I remain hopeful that the Blade still drops. I have started to farm the Blade in the past few weeks. I will post updates to my progress for those interested. I will take a screenshot if and when it drops for me. So far:

- 125 kills
- No Blackvenom Blade
- Only Greens have dropped
- I can confirm that Greenweave Gloves do drop from him, which require level 20 to use. So I don't think it's accurate to say that Blackvenom Blade cannot drop from him because its required level (21) is higher than Rohh the Silent's level (18).

I plan to post updates after every 100 kills.

Farming this guy does not really take hours, just patience. I ran a lv 52 alt over to this area and just kept him there. Everyonce and a while, i would just log over and spend one minute seeing if Rohh had spawned yet. I was able to find him once a day, for three days. Blackvenom Blade dropped on third try. Even if it took me all week to get this to drop. It wouldn't have been that bad. It's not like you gotta spend time waiting, sitting there, for him to respawn. You just need to take a minute every once and a while, to check spawn sights. I'm gonna throw a fiery on this and my Se

I agree 100% with you on your second paragraph and further but i'm disliking your comment for your first one. This dagger is fucking still in game. I just got it yesterday off battered junkboxes.Wowhead is not reliable on some items like this. Check wowdb about it.

Is someone able to confirm if this blade still drops after the Cataclysm?

I've not been able to get anything other than item level 18 greens to drop from Rohh. A lvl 26 item dropping from him now seems unlikely.

Has this weapon been taken out the game? Does it drop from someone else?

Would be great to hear from someone who may have looted this blade after Cata!

1101319+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It is still ingame, but it can no longer be looted from him along with his awesome agil cloak. So please DO NOT try to farm him for it.On the other hand it seems to be heavily buffed, from 1 agil to 8(for a lvl 21, 8 agil...whoa). Makes good hunter buff sticks in 20-24 bracket

First of all I want to apologize for my neanderthal´s english style xD

For those who want to get this awesome dagger I have to say that IT IS STILL ATTAINABLE :D

I have just read it in a forum. It seems that it is a highly rare drop from (1:10000 aproximately) [item=16882]. According to the thread, the best places for farming it are the ogre zones in Duskwood

I wish this notice made your day dudes :P

P.S: I´m not the discoverer, I'm only a guy who wasted a lot of time killing, rapping, swearing and farming the stupid Hogger's cousin and only want to save your time xD
