I wonder what would happen if you put a sharpening stone on the item?
Someone tried. The effects were so horrible that sharpening stones were outlawed for levels higher than 70...
It's interesting that dulled shiv is worth more than three pieces of gold, while sharp dagger can be sold for only a few coppers. But well, in the game where you can carry around 2080 loaves of bread or 2880 bars of iron in your bags everything may be possible.
