The mantid refer to the trees in the Dread Wastes as kypari trees; presumably kyparite is their fossilized resin or sap, essentially a form of amber.
In the Aug 14 beta patch, 14 Blacksmithing plans can now be bought from the Klaxxi faction.
They require Honored with the Klaxxi and each one costs 20 Kyparite.
Also:
20 Kyparite can be purchased from the faction cities in Vale for 1 Spirit of Harmony.
