This stuff wouldn't actually be vegetarian since it is sourced from killing living, sentient* beings, even if they are plant based. Many of them can be tamed and follow commands putting them at least on the same intelligence level as a dog and other similarly intelligent mammals. I'm not vegetarian myself but I did feel the need to point out blizzard missed the point of vegetarianism with this, to the point I wonder if this was intended as a way to mock vegetarians.
*despite science fiction authors repeatedly getting it wrong sentient does not mean human level intelligence, it means self aware and able to display emotions. A very wide swath of mammals reach this point and many birds and reptiles as well. Sapience is where something reaches human levels of reasoning and typically comes after sentience but doesn't actually require sentience, theoretically anyway.
