As of yesterday (3/24/26) this consumable no longer seems to grant either of the movement speed and gathering perception bonuses. The buff simply does not appear anymore, and my "check speed" macro doesn't indicate any change in movement speed...nor does the Mining skill window show any difference in Perception stats for any of the Midnight ore types.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Currently not giving skinning perception for me on live, at least on the profession sheet. The speed still works.
The tooltip doesn't mention it, but the duration of this buff is the standard 60 minutes. It does stack with the Well Fed buff from other food and Darkmoon Firewater. But it does not stack with the other Midnight teas.

This item gives 50 perception which is exactly 5%.
As of today 4/2/26, I noticed im back in Silvermoon from having the buff applied in Harandar and the buff is maintaining. Seems like this is hotfixed finally. Also drank another tea while in Silvermoon and the buff is applying fresh again. Yay!
Earthen CANNOT benefit from this or the other teas, so no bonuses.
Lasts for an hour! Always worth having this buff up if you're doing any gathering while questing.
Do not use tea in Silvermoon. The tea will take buff in other open-world locations. 03.24.2026
Does not benefit from the Pandaren racial, [spell=107072], which is probably intended as the racial specifically says "well fed". In TWW, there was a well fed buff that raised fishing ([item=225855]) and Pandaren DID get double of that, making them the best race for fishing. No longer true in Midnight. Now Dracthyr (+2% Perception) seems to be the best race for fishing. Highmountain racial did not work reliably in TWW.Personally, i think Pandaren should get a higher benefit from all cooking related buffs, but that's just me.
The buff not appearing only seems to occur in Silvermoon City and instances, for me. I can drink the tea outside the city or outside an instance, and the buff appears and seems to grant stats as expected. Definitely something odd going on right now.
It appears normal for me. However I noticed, if I drink while in Silvermoon, it doesn't work. If I drink out in the zone in neutral/hostile territory, it works. If I drink in neutral/hostile territory and then return to Silvermoon, the buff falls off.
Can confirm as said previously, Does not work at all in Silvermoon but does work when out of the city.
Seems they made some kind of change so you can't use this in dungeons, but now every time I go into a cave while mining I lose the buff. Unintended nerf to gathering? Pretty annoying.
Currently the fastest healer mana drink that I know of (when drinking longer than 5 secs--explanation below). It restores mana at 8% per second over 20 seconds. [item=113509] restores 100% mana over 20 seconds, meaning it restores 5% mana per second. It's free, but it's almost half the mana recovery speed of Sanguithorn Tea for longer drinks, and as every m+ healer knows, seconds count when grabbing mana between pulls. (Also, it's only 2g on the AH anyway.)
Apparently drinks 5% and up are equal for the 1st 5 secs, thanks to Blizz's having implemented a system in Shadowlands where drinking now has to ramp. It starts at 1% mana recovery for the 1st sec, 2% for the 2nd, etc. So you will only feel the advantage of Sanguithorn Tea going up to 8% if you drink longer than 5 secs (as it will go to 6% on 6 secs, 7% on 7, 8% on 8 secs) while [item=113509] will only ramp up to 5%. For quick sips in between pulls, any drink that ramps up to how long you drink (3% if 3 secs?) is fine. For trying to recover more mana before a boss, go for our 8% Sanguithorn Tea.
This is what I came here for! Same thing is happening. I do most of my downtime fishing in Silvermoon and waiting for chests. Disappointed, hopefully it's just a bug.
Seems to be intended, because i can see the difference on the profession sheet for herbalism.
I'm north of the city, towards the Sunwell, fishing. No buff. I fished plenty last week in this same spot and the buff worked with no issues. This is not cool. I worked hard to find a place with no background noise so I can hear my bobber. :(
yeah, every time i leave the zone im in it drops the buff. i cant imagine this is un-noticed and hasnt been complained about. Blizzard Devs really are trashier than ever.
For what it's worth, Highmountain works fine in Midnight. Not super frequent but I will always take my extra Ominous Octopus over a potato amount of fishing Perception from Dracthyr.
No longer gives a buff as of 3/23/2026.
