Notice that not even WoWhead knows or has data on where this item comes from anymore?

This item is (after the changes to the handful of NPC's loot tables between TBC and Wrath transition) so rare that not even gold farmers/auction-flippers/collectors know the rarity or price on it.
My server is extremely high pop, and 95% of that being Alliance along with me, so pretty much any rare item, recipe, mount, weapon, collectors item, and unobtainable item, etc that you want, you can find on the AH 24/7 - there's really not much I haven't found on the AH within a week or 2, aside from the Recipe: Thistle Tea which surfaces once every few months. I use a combination of the full Auctioneer Suite, the forums for crazy gold farmers on The Consortium (stormspire . net), a few minor data tracking add-ons, and TheUndermineJournal statistics and alerts, but .......

and this is seriously insane........
According to the collective data on TheUndermineJournal (pretty much the worlds most amazing website for finding the price statistics of any item on any server), my server has seen a grand total of ONE within a 2 year period (the one sold today, so zero before today), a maximum of 19 across all US servers, and a maximum of 5 across all EU servers throughout the combined 2012 and 2013 period!

The weird thing is that the thing used to drop fairly easily in Vanilla and TBC according to the data on TheUndermineJournal so no one ever thought to "hang on to it" or to "keep an eye out for it", and then almost overnight became so extremely extremely rarely seen that it hasn't even caught the eye of gold farmers, auction-house flippers, or just ANYONE. Most auctions ended up selling for the standard price you'd expect from someone just clearing their bags of junk on the AH, but at no point has there been multiple players on 1 server competing, because the freakin thing doesnt drop enough (if it even still drops) to even be noticed.
There have actually been more Auction Listings in the last 6 months for Recipe: Thistle Tea (revered as one of the most sought after, unobtainable-in-game, rare items ever) than there has been for this in TWO YEARS!

If anyone actually realized that simply being the owner of this makes you equal to 1/5th of the entire continent of Europe's WoW Auctions ever to be seen in the last 2 years, i'm pretty sure it's value would explode. But then again... you knowing you have an ultra rare item wont be enough to convince the other 99.9999999% who's never even seen it's existence in the game before - ever - and absolutely none of the NPCs, loot tables, zones, etc that are linked throughout Wowhead's massive database link back to this item as something a player could obtain even if they wanted to!
