CPR and First Aid
The minutes that matter before the ambulance. First Aid: ranks save lives.
Wears the Classic spell First Aid. The trades: the skills that feed, clothe, fix, and furnish a life.
Learning the ranks
Take the course
Take a certified CPR course, in person if you can. The modern adult drill: call emergency services, push hard and fast in the center of the chest, and use the AED the moment it arrives; it talks you through everything.
The big four
Learn the big four: choking (back blows, abdominal thrusts), bleeding (direct pressure, tourniquet for limbs), burns (cool running water, twenty minutes), and the recovery position. Refresh yearly; these skills fade in months.
Calm is rehearsed
Keep a real first aid kit you have actually opened, know the poison line for where you live, and rehearse stop, think, act. Calm in an emergency is a skill, not a temperament.
Infinite Knowledge is a guide, not a substitute for certified instruction where lives, limbs, or law are involved.
