Leather Craft
Cut, bevel, burnish, stitch. Leather forgives nothing and rewards everything.
Wears the Classic spell Leatherworking. The trades: the skills that feed, clothe, fix, and furnish a life.
Learning the ranks
Scraps and edges
Start with veg-tan scraps and a starter kit: coaster, card holder, key fob. Learn to bevel and burnish edges; edges are the tell of skill.
Saddle stitch
Hand-stitch with two needles: strength no machine gives you, slow enough to be perfect. Learn to case leather for tooling and stamp a simple border.
Design from scratch
Make patterns from tape templates on real objects, and graduate to a wallet, a belt from a side of bridle leather, or a sheath. Good leather goods outlive their maker's interest.
