I guess it hints that Garrosh has ordered this foul magic to be practiced in Ragefire Chasm. You know, now that we know much about his corruption and being a total !@#$%^.

Indeed, their "failure" was to be detected. Then again, it is mentioned that this investigation/excursion (against Trogg infestation) was planned, so this could've been a veiled punishment for the Dark Shamans not working fast enough. BTW, Invoker Xorenth later becomes known as [npc=70683]...
