If you messed up like I did and cleared the Greater Invasion before getting this quest, you can still get credit for the quest by going back to the spot and beating the boss again.
If you don't remember where the spot of the greater invasion point was, then click your quest to show the location on your map.

If you see a questionmark to turn in this quest on your map in the Vindicaar but no NPC there, you need to be in the Vindicaar that's hovering over Antoran Wastes. Go to your teleporter, see how there's three Vindicaars, one for each zone? Click the one on the left and Illidan will be there to turn it in to.

Just had this issue myself.
