Cutting Out the Competition is an Alliance-only quest for level 50. It rewards 3,400 experience.
I've never cared much for battle, but I'll be damned if those fiends think they're gettin' this mill.
Best if we clear the area quickly. Grab an axe and show me what you got.

Accept the quest from Lumbering Leo. Get the Axe from on top of a nearby stump. Chop the Sapplings. Ensure you have the lumberjack buff.
For some reason this was not working when I first tried it. I had to abandon and get the quest again. I also had trouble finding the trees. If you are having problems, restart the quest. Hope this helps someone.
The axe is stuck in the tree trunk right next to the NPC who gives you this quest. It doesn't glow or sparkle like other quest objectives, so it took me a minute to find.
The wood is in the base, not around the area.

Gathered by harvesting trees and piles of wood throughout the warfront. Used to construct buildings and upgrade troops.
