You keep the occular from the world quest... if you go back another day to do the WQ again, it WILL NOT give you a new one. I had mine in my bank and couldn't figure out why I couldn't do the WQ. You need the item for the buff!
Either carry it with you forever if you think you may do the WQ again next time it pops, or destroy it so it can be re-issued next time you go to do it!
