I had trouble figuring out how to leave the molten flow. The NPC tells you to go back behind her to where you came in and find a thermal vent and jump. Head back behind her and look for a swirling mist coming up from the floor as you are walking. When you see the swirl just jump and you should get lifted out of the molten flow. Hope this helps anyone else who has this issue.
