TheWoWDBHadn't touched SL recently (although I did play it when it was current). Hearthed to Dalaran in Legion. Game decided to randomly give me this quest for no reason. Turned it in. No reward.

Strange. I'm exalted with all the basic zone factions in Shadowlands. I did an inscription world quest in Bastion, earned a paragon cache for the Ascended, got the achievement The Reputable even though I've been earning them for a while now, and this quest as well... even though I'm not in Maldraxxus or doing anything related to Maldraxxus.
And when I went to turn it in, there was no reward at all.
I can confirm the same. I just got it recently in 9.1 and turrned in. No reward at all.
