Signs of Demise is a quest for level 60.
All members of the Forsworn carry an insignia on their person at all times. We suspect they are imbued with the power of the Temple of Loyalty, bolstering their strength against us.
Collect these insignias from their deceased forms. Strip them of this power, and we shall put it to better use in our own machinations.
Such is the Archon's will, as it is ours.

The mobs immediately next to the quest givers have a terrible drop rate and only a handful are up at a time. I recommend heading to the Citadel of Loyalty(NW part of map), I was able to collect my 20 in just a few minutes due to mob density.
Great advice here, Firstborn's Bounty south of the temple has fewer elites and good density too. Basically anywhere BUT the Eternal Forge itself will be a better experience, its seems.
This quest is truly a joke. The drop rate is ridiculously low. I got this quest along with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle which also had a pretty bad drop rate, which looked positively generous compared to this one.
I basically took this quest and just went and did other quests (other Anima Conductor quests). Definitely not ideal as it's so terrible getting around Bastion (it really lacks flight paths), but otherwise I'd have likely spent an hour just grinding it at the quest location.
Not sure which is more ridiculous, the drop rate or the fact they made it you had to get 20? These Blizzard designers are so incredibly bad nowadays.
Edit: I went to Temple of Humility while doing another Anima Conductor quest and the drop rate seemed much closer to 50% (why it would be different here who knows?). I was on a rogue though, not sure I'd recommend it otherwise since there are so many other mobs who won't drop it.

A gift from the denizens of the Shadowlands, grateful for the return of anima. Acquired from conducting anima to a location and performing activities associated with the inhabitants.
