Occasionally, mobs will spawn to try to slow you down. They're a rather minor nuisance, but will net you the achievement Pushing the Payload if you kill 6 of them.

The tank starts at the top of the hill called Predator Pass at approx 71.55, 38.56 - during its journey, I was the only person accompanying it and 1 had 3 Horde mobs spawn over the entire journey which were simple to dispatch.
Some tanks go downhill, some tanks go uphill. Your best bet is to go to the bridge and wait for one there.
