Do not spend money on AH with this quest. Buy it with Blood of Sargeras at Dalaran (there is a trader). It will only cost 4 Bloods (1 for each stack of 10 Leather). And the quest rewards 3 Bloods currently. That's it.
I tried killing many different kinds of animals here but they don't drop Stonehide Leather. Yes, I know that as a leather worker you make the leather, not find it. So, I bought the leather and satisfied the requirements. Then, I had trouble finding where I needed to turn it in. The quest doesn't say. I finally remembered that there was a cave below, 34.8, 47.9. Inside you'll complete the quest with First Arcanist Thalyrssa.
Illnea is at 44.81, 32 in Dalaran

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
