When you approach Brewmaster Boof and Egg Shell, a very brief scene will occur.

Brewmaster Boof says: Hey there. I don't think you want to go down that tunnel on foot. The saurok are out in force today and they are mighty territorial.

Once you accept The Spring Drifter quest, hop on the boat. Brewmaster Boof and Egg Shell will accompany you, and they will have a conversation on the way through the tunnel.

Brewmaster Boof says: Ever been to Kun-Lai before? It's great. Long flowing farmlands. Beautiful mountains. And absolutely nothing dangerous whatsoever.
Egg Shell says: Hozen attack grummles.

While you are floating down the river through the cave, Saurok will be throwing spears at you, Brewmaster Boof and Egg Shell. They have really lousy aim however, and does not look like they hit even once throughout the entire ride.

Brewmaster Boof says: Well... yes. There are problems with the hozen.
Egg Shell says: Tigers.
Brewmaster Boof says: Yes, and the tigers.
Egg Shell says: Darkhatched saurok are very dangerous, and very powerful.
Brewmaster Boof says: The spears are just for show. As long as we don't get out of the boat or make eye contact or get hit by a spear then we should be fine.
Egg Shell says: Saurok are very dangerous.
Brewmaster Boof says: It's safe. I bought Lorewalker Cho and his strange companions up this way not long back.
Egg Shell says: The "orc" tried to punch me.
Brewmaster Boof says: You had that coming. Waving your incense about in his face... wait a minute. Something doesn't feel right about this.

Brewmaster Boof mentions something does not feel right once you exit the cave. On the way to Binan Village...

Brewmaster Boof says: Are those refugees? What's going on over there? Do I hear fighting?
Brewmaster Boof says: These people are farmers, not fighters! They may need our help!

The boat docks at the pier and all of you hop out.

It is likely the companions accompanying Lorewalker Cho through the cave earlier are General Nazgrim, Shademaster Kiryn, Shorkia and Rivett Clutchpop if you are playing as Horde.

If you are playing as Alliance, the quip between Brewmaster Boof and Egg Shell about the punch and incense will obviously be different. Since I don't play Alliance, I cannot really comment on this one.

perhaps a reference to the patrol boat scenes in Apocalypse Now, with Lance waving the purple smoke bomb in Chief's face (the incense), arrow attack, and Chief getting hit by a spear.
