TheWoWDBVyraxxis's combination of [spell=126337] plus [spell=126336] is his most dangerous move - periodically, during the fight, he'll toss you behind him from wherever you are and coat the ground with a damaging goo that slows you down enough that it's hard to escape.
Since the fight starts on a raised platform, a good way to handle him is to lure him to the edge of the stairs and fight there. The caustic pitch can only cover a flat area, so stepping up or down the stairs lets you easily get out of its area.

It's not really clear and not marked on the map, at least at this point in beta, but he's stood on top of the wall to the north of where you shoot the turrets on the pre quests.
Vyraxxis drops Caustic Pitch on a larger area of the floor. To escape quicker one has to jump out of it, just running won't work as well, as the player gets slowed by it.
