What the Duck?

The horn can be used without dismounting.

While I'm doing the quest to scare away the ducks, I don't mind hearing the sound that clicking the Horn of Honking makes to scare them away, But honestly, I don't want to hear that droning, mournful sound the WHOLE time I'm picking up eggs in the area. It's very depressing! Why do I have to hear every single time everyone else uses the Horn of Honking. It's grating on my nerves so bad that I don't want to finish questing in this area. Admins... please turn this sound off!

Quests in the [event=181] Duck /[npc=213665] series

1.

What the Duck?

Guest giver [npc=211646] says an heirloom has been stolen by loud ducks. (This is a [item=212643] about the size of a small duck.) She asks you to scare off 10 ducks using [item=210558].

No need to target ducks, just approach them and click on horn.

2.

A Fowl Concoction

[npc=211646] asks you to go see a mage in Stormwind. The Mage is [npc=216129] who is in the Wizard’s Sanctum.

Don’t put this off. Just fly to the Mage Tower. Enter the open doorway. Just before the portal entrance to the main hall, look to the right. [npc=216129] is on the platform. He says he'll work on a concoction that will allow you to communicate with ducks.

Duck Tales

[npc=216129] has come to Goldshire and gives you a [item=212608] that will disguise you as a duck.

Task: Get information from 5 ducks. Read what the ducks say or don't say in the Chat box. If you turn off the duck buff and drink the potion again you’ll have a duck disguise in a different color. (This may help you decide on a color when you complete Just a Waddle Away.)

Just a Waddle Away

[npc=216129] asks you to discover where the ducks are hiding. There are several steps to this quest:

• Drink the [item=212608] and check the map. You'll see the location of the hiding place.
• 
  
• Fly there, then drink the potion to regain a duck disguise. Wait for the shape-shifting [npc=213665]. He tells you to travel to the big nest to help end the egg festival.
• 
  
• Drop the duck buff and fly to the nest marked on the map. You’ll see the [item=212643] (quest item). But don’t pick it up until [npc=213665] is summoned and defeated!
• .
  
• [npc=213665] is summoned when any player finds and drags a huge [npc=216836] to the nest. It spawns around Stonefield Farm or Forest’s Edge.
• 
  
• Fight the boss with the informal group that waits. You receive the achievement Quacked Killer.
• 
  
• Loot [npc=213665] and receive [item=210594] which begins the quest Feathered Fiend. This quest tells you to give the [item=210594] to [npc=211646].

Turn in 2 quests to [npc=211646]:
Just a Waddle Away
Feathered Fiend

For Just a Waddle Away, turn in [item=212643]. You receive a [item=216881] (toy).

• Each character that completes Just a Waddle Away gets to choose a duck disguise color. The color is character-specific and only one color can be learned during [event=181].
• 
  
• Since there are six colors, it looks like it will take a character 6 years to get all of them. So have alts pick different colors for their own use.
• 
  
• It may take a day before the [item=216881] starts working.

A character that hasn't completed Just a Waddle Away can click on the icon for the toy. A [item=216881] egg will spawn, but it won’t convert the character into a duck.

For Feathered Fiend, turn in [item=210594]. You receive:

• a [item=216874] if your character is level 60+. [item=216874] gives you a small chance to loot a [item=212599] mount.

• or [item=213428] for lower level characters.

Both baskets may contain Spring Reveler's transmogs (there are 6 pieces) or just a couple of [item=45072]s.

6.

The daily Feathered Fiend

After any character completes Just a Waddle Away and Feathered Fiend, the daily is available to all characters.

There is no quest giver for the quest. You'll see a boss marker on the map where the big nest is located.

• To summon [npc=213665], someone has to find and drag the huge [npc=216836] to the big nest. Participate in the fight.
• 
  
• Loot [npc=213665] to get the [item=210594] and Feathered Fiend. Turn it in to [npc=211646].
• 
  
• You’ll receive a [item=216874] if your character is level 60+ or a [item=213428] for lower level characters.
