Odyn had the question mark over his head and the quest showed as completed and ready to turn in, but nothing happened when I clicked him. Leaving the room and running out of range then pack fixed it.
He says the Ilskahorn is imbued with the bone dust of heroes but I only ever tossed in mead and flux when doing the crafting quest lol.
