TheWoWDBI've seen some guides say it grows in sunny zones (Isle of Dorn, Hallowfall, The Ringing Deeps).
I'm also noticing it seems to grow at the base of trees. Unfortunately, this means it grows in abundance in the forest outside of Isle of Dorn's meadery, which is chock full of angry elite bees.

Most noteworthy is that the fibers can be woven to make parchment, or when tightly packed and treated, a material akin to wood.

You are indeed correct but luckily, at the moment early in the patch, it seems heavily farmed by tough guys farming the mobs so you can get in there pretty safely to get the herb.
