Does the last portion of this spell, the "dealing (261% of Spell power) Shadow damage over 12 sec to all nearby enemies." count towards Malefic Rapture's damage? Like instead of it counting Agony and Corruption only for bonus damage, will it also count this as a third DoT?
Arguably the worst of the covenant abilities for a Warlock. It counts as a DoT for Malefic Rapture and is extended by Darkglare, and it may compete in a M+ meta where the packs people pull are enormous. But at the moment, this is not the case. The ability does not do enough damage to justify breaking away from your rotation unless there are at least 5 enemies stacked very closely. The applied curses may offer some benefit, though it goes unnoticed when overshadowed by your poor DPS on the meters.
The spell is by no means completely useless. However, if you want to minmax as a Warlock, Venthyr is not the pick.
Tooltip
Call forth a cloud of chaotic anima that travels to the target enemy, dealing Shadow damage to enemies in its path. When the anima reaches the target it explodes, inflicting either Curse of Weakness or Curse of Tongues, and dealing Shadow damage over 12 sec to all nearby enemies.
