Where These Pieces Drop
13 of this set's 22 pieces drop from 9 encounters in Broken Isles and Tomb of Sargeras. The rest come from vendors, quests, crafting or world drops, which the dungeon journal does not record.
Drop chances are not stored in the client data we mine, so none are shown here.
The Ensemble
Ensemble: Fanged Slayer's Armor is a single item whose use effect learns all of Fanged Slayer's Armor at once. It is Bind on Pickup.
Where to Farm This Set
9 bosses in Broken Isles and Tomb of Sargeras drop pieces of this set. Each instance below carries its Adventure Guide entry, where its entrance is, and what each boss drops.
This area once stood as the cradle of elven civilization, centered around the ancient elven capital of Suramar, until the Sundering tore the land apart. While the power of the Nightwell preserved the city of Suramar, the surrounding lands bear the scars of that catastrophic event. But now Gul'dan has awakened the Tomb of Sargeras, and from the tauren camps in the peaks of Highmountain, to the druidic groves of Val'sharah, to vrykul settlements that dot Stormheim, the Isles live in the shadow of the Legion.
The entrance is in Val'sharah at 56.3, 36.7 (/way #641 56.3 36.7).
Broken Isles entrance
Brutallus drops 1 piece of this set (Shoulder). Adventure Guide map pin: 50.0, 50.0 on the Black Temple map. The pit lord Brutallus is a veteran of many battles, including the most recent battle at the Sunwell. His tactics are rarely sophisticated, often relying on pure force to dominate enemy armies.
Aegwynn used this sacred temple of Elune to lock away the defeated Sargeras' avatar. She hoped it would remain dormant, buried deep within the earth, but the lure of power has continued to draw foul entities to this site. When Gul'dan re-entered the tomb, he tore down Aegwynn's wards and opened a doorway for the Legion to invade. Now, the fel army tears at the vault, hoping to reclaim their master's power.
The entrance is in Broken Shore at 65.0, 20.3 (/way #646 65.0 20.3).
Tomb of Sargeras entrance
Goroth drops 1 piece of this set (Waist). Adventure Guide map pin: 45.1, 56.7 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. As punishment for past failures, Goroth's flesh is marred with searing wounds. With every movement this behemoth makes, his flesh crackles and hisses with unending torment, a scourge he is happy to inflict upon those who oppose him.
Demonic Inquisition drops 2 pieces of this set (Wrist, Head). Adventure Guide map pin: 45.0, 16.2 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. Anticipating the arrival of mortal forces invading the Tomb of Sargeras, Kil'jaeden has called on his best captors, Atrigan and Belac, to lock down the interlopers and prevent them from using the Pillars to advance deeper into the dungeon.
Harjatan drops 1 piece of this set (Hands). Adventure Guide map pin: 45.9, 69.9 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. Harjatan was trained from birth to demolish his enemies. Through a conquest of savage brutality, he gathered throngs of cave dwelling murlocs who see him as a god. Now, the naga brute merely has to bark a command and hordes of devout followers set themselves to task.
Sisters of the Moon drops 1 piece of this set (Head). Adventure Guide map pin: 51.9, 57.2 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. The Sisters of the Moon served as wardens for the temple long before the avatar of Sargeras was buried beneath it. Even in death, the sisters maintained their vigil, but over the millennia something twisted their ability to distinguish friend from foe. Their madness slowly consumed them, and now any who enter their sacred chambers are put to death.
Mistress Sassz'ine drops 2 pieces of this set (Chest, Legs). Adventure Guide map pin: 84.8, 86.1 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. Mistress Sassz'ine has spent a lifetime binding the denizens of the ocean to her dark will. With this power, she summons nightmares from the briny depths to wash away any who dare challenge her.
The Desolate Host drops 1 piece of this set (Back). Adventure Guide map pin: 58.8, 20.2 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. Once, this was a sacred burial site for the Night Elves, but the Legion has twisted these grounds with the Engine of Souls. This foul machine draws upon the energy of the dead, twisting them into abominations. Due to this corruption, these tormented spirits have become monstrosities, looking to feed on any who descend into the tomb's depths.
Maiden of Vigilance drops 2 pieces of this set (Hands, Chest). Adventure Guide map pin: 50.2, 26.5 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. Charged by Aegwynn to defend the Tomb of Sargeras, the Maiden of Vigilance has stood watch for hundreds of years. Yet, the guardian did not forsee what effect the avatar's seeping fel energy would have on this titan construct. Slowly warped by this maleficence, the Maiden now seeks to destroy any in her path.
Fallen Avatar drops 2 pieces of this set (Feet, Shoulder). Adventure Guide map pin: 50.5, 18.8 on the Tomb of Sargeras map. When Aegwynn defeated the Avatar of Sargeras, she was unable to destroy his avatar. In an effort to seal it away, the armor was entombed beneath the Temple of Elune, where it remained dormant for hundreds of years. Now, with the Legion tearing down the tomb's barriers, Kil'jaeden is in a position to reanimate the armor and unleash its power on Azeroth.
Set Bonus
6 pieces of this appearance set also belong to the item set Fanged Slayer's Armor, which carries these bonuses in the game files:
2 pieces (Assassination): Garrote's cost is reduced by 25 Energy and cooldown is reduced by 12 sec.
2 pieces (Outlaw): Free Pistol Shots increase your critical strike chance by 5% for 8 sec.
2 pieces (Subtlety): Symbols of Death increases your damage done by an additional 10%.
1 other set reuses the 3D models of Fanged Slayer's Armor’s head, shoulder, chest, waist, legs, feet and hands, most shared models first:
Cruel Gladiator's Leather Armor (Legion, 18 pieces): the same head, shoulder, chest, waist, legs, feet and hands models, recoloured.
Matched in the game files: each piece’s ItemDisplayInfo names its 3D model and texture. The same model with another texture is a recolour. Only pieces with a 3D model of their own (helms, shoulders, cloaks, weapons, shields, off-hands and some belts and robes) can be compared this way; pieces drawn from textures alone are left out.
The game data carries 5 separate set records under the name Fanged Slayer's Armor - one per class or armor weight, plus the per-slot recolours the appearance was built from. This page is the one we index for the name; the others are listed here so nothing is lost.
