It is ridiculous that this achievement doesn't give you an "Admiral" title. It takes about half a year to get, if not longer, yet gives you absolutely nothing other than 10 measly achievement points.

After finally receiving this achievement today, I can confirm that there are no hidden rewards, just a measly 10 points.
Only way I can see to help speed this up is 1) a Mage Tower with Mission Completion Orders, alongside of 2) a Trading Post to keep garrison resources coming in (so you can keep REequipping all those ships for success). And as others have said -- if you can get the title Captain for the achievement Master of the Seas, I totally agree you should be an Admiral for 1000 successful ship missions completed. And maybe a nifty pet (a Right Shark would be a nice match for a Left Shark -- same model but different color LOL)...
